Good to know

The practical bits — and there’s always a human at the other end if your plans are more complicated.

What’s included with every hire?

Shared use of the kitchen (tea & coffee 50p a cup), chairs and tables, and access to the garden for breaks. The Studio has yoga mats, cushions and adjustable lighting; a projector, screen and speakers can be requested when you book.

How do the agreements work?

One e-signature at checkout covers our Terms & Conditions, Code of Conduct and Health & Safety information — the documents arrive with your confirmation email, so there’s no paperwork to chase afterwards.

What are off-peak rates?

Weekday daytime bookings (Mon–Fri, mainly before 5pm) qualify for our lower off-peak rate — it’s applied automatically when you pick your slot, and the saving is shown before you pay.

Is the Centre accessible?

There’s level access and an accessible toilet on the ground floor. The Studio is up a single flight of stairs (no lift). Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans are available — just ask when booking.

Garden bookings and weather?

Outdoor hires can’t be refunded for last-minute weather cancellations, so we recommend adding an indoor backup room — the booking flow will suggest one with your dates.

I teach here every week — can I book a whole term?

Yes. Choose Regular slot on any room, set your day and how often, and we’ll check every date in your term against the diary in one go — showing you any that clash before you commit. Pay per session, monthly, or for the term. For whole-building hires or anything unusual, email office@salisburycentre.org or call 0757 268 4577 (Wed–Fri, 10am–2pm).

What’s changed — and why it converts

Design notes on this prototype

1Regular slots are the main event

Your own calendar says so: 30 of your 38 live programmes recur, covering 1,645 of 1,653 sessions. Yoga for All alone is ~105 Studio sessions a year. So booking a whole term is the front door here, not a footnote — pick Regular slot on any room.

2A term checked against the diary in one go

The job the office does by hand today: take a weekly slot, walk the diary date by date, find the clashes. Here every date is checked at once — each start time shows how much of the term it can honour (“38/40 dates”), clashes are listed, and you can skip one or move the whole slot.

3Regulars get their own page

A facilitator holding 100+ sessions a year needs to cancel a single date without emailing an office that opens twelve hours a week. Their booking page does that, shows what’s paid, and lets them renew the slot when the term ends.

4And the office gets a real diary

One grid, every room, replacing a What’s On calendar that says in writing it isn’t representative of availability. Phone bookings go in in seconds and block the room everywhere; maintenance can be blocked out; and the income and occupancy numbers a funder asks for come out of the system rather than someone’s memory.

5Nobody pays for a year upfront

Block hire needs a payment schedule, not a checkout. Pay per session with a card on file, spread it monthly, or settle the term — and one signed agreement covers the whole run instead of re-signing every week.

6Live availability, not “email and wait”

Today a hirer fills in a form and waits for a reply. Here they see free slots instantly — bookings can happen at 9pm on a Sunday, when most people actually plan things.

7Every price upfront

These are the Centre’s real summer 2026 rates, shown per slot. Off-peak pricing is applied automatically and the saving is spelled out — which quietly nudges bookings into quiet weekday daytimes.

8Card payment at booking

Payment happens in the same two minutes as the booking, so the slot is genuinely committed — no more invoices to chase, and far fewer no-shows.

9One signature, three documents

The T&Cs, Code of Conduct and Health & Safety info are bundled into a single e-agreement at checkout, delivered with the confirmation email. Compliance stays; friction goes.

10The right room, first time

“How many people? What are you planning?” filters point hirers at the right space, so the office stops untangling mismatched enquiries (a 60-person party asking for the Garden Room…).

11A human escape hatch

Complex hires — regular slots, several rooms, whole-building — are deliberately routed to email and phone. The system handles the routine; people handle the special cases.

12You already do this brilliantly — on Airbnb

Superhost status, 130 reviews, self check-in, instant card payment. The hospitality operation is proven; it’s only the room hire that’s still stuck in an email queue. This section keeps Airbnb as the discovery channel while giving direct bookers a fee-free route.

13Your brand, your website, no commission

Built in the Centre’s own colours, type and photography, living on salisburycentre.org — unlike marketplace platforms, no percentage of each hire leaves the building.
